These are the start of great gift ideas. This month your homework is to do research on the kids in your life and use those Easter basket ideas to get your shopping going! Don't rely on your memory to keep these gifty tidbits until Christmas. Store these ideas in the Christmas spreadsheet or in your phone's notes app and you'll have a great place to start Christmas shopping! A Quick Recap of this Year: January Christmas Prep: In January we took the time to review last Christmas. We updated our gift spreadsheets with all of the gifts that we gave during Christmas. All of the clothes, toys, gadgets and stocking stuffers were noted, as well as their recipient’s reactions to these gifts. We also talked about setting a budget for Christmas by setting aside a monthly stipend for the holiday season with a direct deposit amount or just a calendar reminder, or simply planning to purchase a gift each month so you don’t have to think of all the gift ideas at the end of the year. February Christmas Prep: In February we started to think about what to give for Christmas gifts. I get it, it’s early but gift giving is what this site is all about! This month we are getting strategic about gifts and gift ideas for Christmas. Let’s start thinking of ideas for gifts based on the resources recently presented to us. In layman’s terms, look at all of the Valentine’s Day gift guides for Christmas ideas. March Christmas Prep: In March we focused on the changing of the seasons. With the weather getting warmer, Spring cleaning is about to be in full swing. People will be donating things they didn't use or throwing away items that can't be reused. Listen to what the people in your life are saying they need for this new season. Many of us state out loud what we need, in passing, and only occasionally go about buying that item for ourselves. Next month we’ll circle back and work on making progress in another area so you’re prepared for the end of the year. Very Happy Planning! … VHM

How to Gift It: I think these would make great stocking stuffers for all the girls in your live but you can also give these with their favorite makeup. Adding these to a package with their favorite foundation and concealer or even a gift card to Sephora would be great. Or gift this with a beautiful cashmere sweater, as a way to keep their new threads makeup free! For example, a friend of mine was saying he'd love to have a great pair of binoculars to see the wildlife around his house and yard. This is a great example of a spring time need that might night have come up in the colder months as we get closer to Christmas. Take note of these casual conversations where a friend or family member says what they want, what they need or would like for spring. Did they say that wish they had a new white spring dress and cowboy boots for festival season? Have they admired the fresh flowers in bloom and wish they could have flowers delivered to their home every week? Did they return from spring break only to say they need new swimwear? - Places to Celebrate: Miami, FL
They say New York is the city that never sleeps but I would put a bid in on Miami's behalf! This city is full of incredible energy and wonderful food. While most cities entertain on the weekend, I've noticed that Miami thrives all seven days! If you're in Miami check out these delicious restaurants any day of the week. Doya Located in the Wynwood area, this delicious Aegean restaurant offers small and large plates, served tapas style. Start out with great dips and bread before you dive into their great lamb, seafood and vegetarian options. "We celebrate the Meze culture from Greece and Turkey. We also take inspiration from the greater Mediterranean region and the Middle East. We love Meze culture because it is based on the principle that food tastes better when shared. Especially when shared with people you love." - Doya Pez Loco Located in a cute complex called the Wynwood Jungle, the interior is as yummy as the food. "Pez Loco is the brainchild of James Beard nominated Rising Star Chef Ari Taymor. Hailing from the west coast, Chef Taymor has been inspired by his time in the coastal areas of LA and Mexico. [...] At Pez Loco guests can discover new flavors and sip creative craft tequila and mezcal cocktails, while surrounded in an energetic tropical ambiance." - Pez Loco Red Rooster This restaurant has been on my list of must-try places for a while and it didn't disappoint! While there are a few locations to try, we dined at the location in the Overtown neighborhood of Miami. "At Red Rooster we want to share the story of Overtown with our guests, and offer a platform to celebrate local artists, musicians, and culinary talents. We embrace today’s Overtown with a spirit of inclusiveness and community by hiring our family of staff from within the community; inspiring better eating through buying from local purveyors." - Red Rooster La Trova I am still full from the amount of delicious food I ate at La Trova! From mouthwatering empanadas to craveable desserts, I enjoyed everything from the food to the festive atmosphere. "The world famous Julio Cabrera and his team of Cantineros bring to life the retro Cuba atmosphere with their artisanal, handcrafted cocktails. James Beard Award Winning Chef Michelle Bernstein lends her culinary prowess with a contemporary take on Cuban-styled dishes. Immerse yourself in Miami Cuban culture with live music played by real Trova musicians." - La Trova Yardbird Southern Comfort food is brought to Miami at Yardbird!
